CERRITOS, Calif. (July 8, 2010) – Plustek Technology Inc. (www.plustek.com/usa), a manufacturer of imaging devices (including portable scanners, sheet fed/flat bed scanners, wide format scanners) and network video recorders for IP cameras, today announced the MobileOffice S400 and MobileOffice S420 scanners, the latest offerings from Plustek’s award-winning line of mobile office scanners. The MobileOffice S400 and MobileOffice S420 scanners convert paper documents, expense reports, and business cards to searchable PDF with the touch of a button and are ideal for business travelers, home users or anywhere a laptop computer is used.
Designed with the reliability demanded by business users, and a price point attractive to home users, the second generation mobile scanners are powered by the USB bus and do not require external power. With the touch of a button the user can scan to a PC, laptop or netbook, in-office, at the airport, at a customer’s site or on the road at a scanning speeds of up to 12 pages per minute for the MobileOffice S420 (3 pages per minute for the MobileOffice S400). The MobileOffice S400 and MobileOffice S420 also feature advanced image processing that allows the user to scan mixed sized documents with no adjustments. Images are automatically straightened, rotated and adjusted for exposure with no manual intervention. The result is more accurate Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and fewer pages that need to be rescanned. The included software productivity suite allows the user to easily create and manage searchable PDF’s. Industry standard TWAIN drivers combined with TIF, JPG, PDF and Microsoft Office file formats ensure compatibility with thousands of scanning and imaging programs. The MobileOffice S420 features a faster 12ppm scan speed, embossed card scanning, an office docking station, may be shared between two PCs, and is Energy Star compliant
The MobileOffice S400 and MobileOffice S420 are Plustek’s newest addition to their line of ultra-portable document imaging scanners that are designed to capture critical documents quickly at the source, reducing business cycle times and improving payment times. Using the MobileOffice S400 and MobileOffice 420 scanner, documents and receipts can be scanned at their source in minutes. In addition, errors normally caused by manual data entry or lost documents are reduced and mailing costs can be eliminated.
Sales/Purchase
The MobileOffice S400 has an MSRP of $159 and is available now. The MobileOffice S420 has an MSRP of $199 and will be available in August.
