Mid-range performance speeds increased on Burroughs SmartSource scanners, boosting their industry dominance in scalability

Burroughs SmartSource scanners now available in 55 DPM and 80 DPM models

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Strengthening the scanners’ advantage over competitive offerings,mid-range performance speeds of Burroughs Payment Systems’ Professional and Expert scanners are now available in 55 DPM (documents per minute) and 80 DPM.  This equates to 22% and 14% performance increases respectively over the original  mid-range performance levels of 45 DPM and 70 DPM.

The speed increases are provided across the latest versions of all Burroughs SmartSource software drivers released in mid-June.  SmartSource scanners now offer industry-leading performance scalability at 30, 55, 80 and 120 DPM -- delivering unparalleled flexibility in sizing scanners to a client’s unique document workload. The faster performance levels can be ordered immediately on new-build versions of the scanners.  Burroughs also extends these performance increases at no-charge to installed SmartSource scanners configured with speeds of 45 and 70 DPM which are covered under Burroughs’ maintenance agreements.

Burroughs continues to lead the industry with the widest performance range of advanced scanners according to Alan Howard, president and CEO. “We want to ensure that our customers have the best technology available.  These performance increases are being made available at no cost to users of our installed scanners, and that’s just one example of Burroughs continuing commitment to enhance the value of customer investments.”
