BilltoMobile Expands Executive Team With Return of Payments Industry Veteran Steve Klebe

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - July 20, 2010) -  BilltoMobile™ welcomes the return of respected payments industry veteran Steve Klebe, naming him vice president of business development and strategy. In his new role, Steve is responsible for developing and managing BilltoMobile's strategic relationships, guiding the company's long-term strategy and continuing to rapidly expand the company's online merchant partnerships. BilltoMobile launched its innovative direct mobile billing service in May 2010 with its first mobile carrier, Verizon Wireless. BilltoMobile is privately held in the U.S., with majority ownership by Danal Co., Ltd., based in South Korea. Danal is a pioneer and global leader in charging e-commerce transactions directly to mobile phone accounts.

"As a payments, e-commerce, and security expert, Steve brings an exceptional wealth of executive experience and knowledge to help us serve our customers and partners," said Jim Greenwell, president and CEO, BilltoMobile. "The features of BilltoMobile and the processing rates now available to merchants with our service are unprecedented in the North American market. With our expanding U.S. and global presence, it's an ideal time for Steve to re-join the team."

With more than 30 years of experience in sales, business development, creating strategic alliances and product marketing in electronic payments, authentication and fraud prevention, Steve returns to BilltoMobile after being an earlier, integral part of creating the company. Over the past three decades, he has held a variety of senior management roles at prominent, successful payment companies including VeriFone, CyberSource, Cybercash and, most recently, Vindicia. While at CyberSource, he led the effort to create the original partnership with Visa that led to both an equity investment and a co-developed and branded fraud prevention service.

"Having the opportunity to return to BilltoMobile now that we are live and bringing our market-changing alternative payment service to the online merchant community is exciting," Steve said. "Working with a standout group of industry experts on a project you can be proud of makes a world of a difference -- not to mention representing a payment service that is truly at the forefront of today's online mobile payments marketplace."
Making his debut as the newest member of BilltoMobile's executive team, Steve will be attending Casual Connect in Seattle through July 22. Online entertainment publishers interested in meeting with him can contact him at steve.klebe@billtomobile.com for an appointment.

"Very few people are as knowledgeable about alternative payment models, or as respected in the e-commerce industry, as is Steve," said Scott Loftesness, founding partner at Glenbrook Partners, a research firm focusing on the payments industry. "He understands how merchants think based on his years of closely working with them -- now he brings all of that experience to the mobile payments space in his new role at BilltoMobile."
